Wing Memorial Hospital offers evaluation and treatment for patients who are
dealing with pain as a result of illness or injury. Common pain problems treated
include back pain, reflex sympathetic dystrophy, neck pain and a wide range of
other conditions. Both acute (short-term) and chronic (long-term) pain is
addressed.
A specially trained pain management physician works with
patients and their primary care physicians to determine the source of pain and
to eliminate or decrease it. Our goal is to help manage a patient’s pain so that
it does not become overwhelming, giving him/her an improved quality of life.
Treatment for chronic pain can include medications. In some cases, an
injection may be recommended. Patients may also be referred to other types of
treatment, such as physical therapy.

Dr. Rivera receives patients in the Pain Clinic at Palmer Medical Center on Thursdays by appointment only. Patients are referred by their primary care provider for services.
