The UMass Memorial Rehab Group provides an extensive physical therapy program for patients who suffer from orthopedic injuries, neurological problems, sports injuries and many other conditions. Common rehabilitative care includes recovery from joint replacement surgery, bone fractures, ligament and tendon injuries, muscle strains and back pain.
The goal of physical therapy is to improve movement and function, prevent injury and disability, and promote optimum levels of health and wellness. Programs are individually designed based on the patient's goals and needs.
Physical therapists work with patients in a state-of-the-art gym complete with nautilus, free weights, exercise bikes, treadmills and other equipment, using the latest modalities, such as ultrasound, biofeedback and electrical stimulation to aid the rehabilitation process. The Rehab Group provides patients privacy when working with their therapists via seven private rooms where patients work with their therapists one on one.
